SCALE OF RIVER DIFFICULTY
The difficulty of a river is classified on a scale
of I to VI
I- Waves small; passages
clear; no serious obstacles
II- Rapids of moderate difficulty with passages
clear. Good for canoes
III- MEDIUM: Waves numerous, high, irregular;
rocks; eddies; rapids with passages clear through narrow chutes
requiring expertise in maneuvering rafts and kayaks
IV- DIFFICULT: Long rapids; waves powerful,
rocks; boiling eddies; powerful and precision required.
V- VERY DIFFICULT: Exceedingly difficult;
long and violent rapids; following each other almost without
interuption; riverbed extremely obstructed; big drops, violent
current, and steep gradient.
VI- UNRUNNABLE
Our Boats
OAR / PADDLE ASSIST :
A combination oar & paddle raft. The guide
maneuvers with two long oars and guests paddle. |

PADDLE RAFT :
Everyone including the guide, uses canoe-like paddles
and works together as a team to maneuver the raft. |

INFLATABLE KAYAK :
One or two guests use the traditional double-bladed
paddles in these very stable inflatable boats. |
